Every Eagle scholar embodies these five pillars — the foundation of character that defines who we are and who we are becoming.
Stand tall in who you are
Confidence
We build young men who stand tall in who they are
An Eagle scholar is secure in his understanding of any task and believes that he can accomplish all parts of the task to achieve the intended goal. He is unafraid of making a mistake and respectfully speaks his mind when advocating for himself.
Lead in every space
Leadership
Every Eagle is trained to lead — in the classroom, community, and beyond
An Eagle scholar is a committed, optimistic citizen, capable of leading others in a given situation. He aggressively pursues challenging academic tasks and works to maintain a productive and positive environment inside and outside the classroom.
Excellence is earned
Effort
Excellence is not a gift — it is earned through consistent, relentless effort
An Eagle scholar is committed to striving for academic and social excellence. He does not let what he cannot do interfere with what he can do, and understands that the amount of work he exerts will be reflected in his performance.
Hold yourself to the highest standard
Accountability
We hold ourselves and each other to the highest standard
An Eagle scholar is prepared to make the necessary sacrifices in order to reach his goals. He believes excellence is not a singular act; it is a habit, and constantly strives to do better in academic and personal life.
Rise, adapt, push forward
Resilience
No obstacle is permanent. Eagles rise, adapt, and push forward
An Eagle scholar has determination, flexibility, toughness, self-confidence, self-control, and self-responsibility. He reflects on mistakes and constructs a solution to move forward.
Rituals & Traditions
Recited Every Morning at Town Hall
Invictus
Out of the night that covers me, Black as the pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.
— William Ernest Henley
Daily Ritual — 8:05 AM
Town Hall
Each morning, the young men of Eagle Academy attend Town Hall, a daily space for reflection, announcements, celebration, and community accountability. Town Hall starts at 8:05am for all scholars and is mandatory.
Every Scholar. Every Day.
Sacred Practice
Libation
Each morning at Town Hall, the Eagle community pauses to honor the ancestors, educators, families, and leaders who made this work possible through this powerful morning ritual.
